Pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Act, Chapter 44, the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) is mandated to provide public education on matters relating to the collection, processing, storage, and protection of personal data.

In fulfilling this mandate, the Commission seeks to enhance awareness among the general public, public and private institutions, and other stakeholders regarding their rights and obligations in relation to personal data protection. This education aims to ensure that all stakeholders recognize the importance of safeguarding privacy and ensuring the security of personal data in both digital and non-digital environments.

The Commission delivers public education through various channels, including:
  1. Public awareness campaigns through mass media;
  2. Training sessions, workshops, and seminars for stakeholders;
  3. Publications, guidelines, and educational materials;
  4. Digital platforms, including the official website and social media.

Through these initiatives, the Commission aims to build a well-informed society on personal data protection issues, enhance accountability among data handlers, and promote a culture of respecting individuals’ privacy.

Furthermore, public education serves as a critical tool in preventing violations of the law, minimizing risks associated with misuse of personal data, and strengthening public trust in data collection and management systems.

The Commission will continue to design and implement effective public awareness strategies to ensure that every stakeholder plays a role in protecting personal data and complies with the provisions of the law.
